Make the face easy to read
Open the original photo at normal viewing size. You should be able to distinguish both eyes, the nose and the outline of the mouth without zooming into a tiny face. A head-and-shoulders portrait is a useful starting point; leave space around the head instead of cropping through the hair or chin.
- Use soft, even light. A bright window in front of you usually gives a clearer reference than a bright window behind you.
- Choose a front-facing or gentle three-quarter angle with a relaxed expression.
- Keep sunglasses, hands, hair and phone edges away from the face.
- Use a recent, unfiltered original. Beauty filters, face reshaping and repeated screenshot compression remove useful detail.
Keep it, recrop it or take another photo?
| Your photo | What to do |
|---|---|
| Clear face, simple background | Keep it. Check that the face stays recognizable at a smaller size. |
| Sharp photo with too much empty space | Recrop around the head and shoulders, keeping the whole head. |
| Blurred, backlit or heavily filtered face | Take another photo. Enlarging the file will not recover the missing facial detail. |
| Several people in one picture | Choose a separate portrait for each requested person. Follow the upload slots in Studio. |
Match your photos to the scene
The selected scene determines the required photos. Preview it, then follow the labels in Studio: a solo scene needs the lead person's portrait; a two-person scene shows separate roles. When left and right slots appear, match the people to those positions in the sample.
Do not upload a group photo into each slot or duplicate one portrait just to fill a second role. Changing scenes can change the number of slots; switching templates clears unsubmitted photos.
A quick check before creating
Check the file
Use JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB per photo. Export an HEIC photo to a supported format; renaming its extension is not a conversion.
Check the scene and roles
Open the scene preview and add one clear portrait to each required slot. Confirm that every person has agreed to appear in the video.
Review before submitting
Check the selected video quality, price and audio note. Photos selected in the tab are uploaded when you sign in and start creating.
FAQ
Does my input photo have to be vertical?
A clear face matters more than the input orientation. Keep the whole head visible and review the selected scene's output format in Studio.
Will a bigger file make the face more accurate?
Not by itself. A sharp original can help, but upscaling a blurry or filtered face does not restore the missing information.
